About NAC NI
The National Association of Councillors Northern Ireland (NAC NI) is the only all-party organisation dedicated to representing councillors across Northern Ireland. We equip elected members with the support, guidance and representation they need to fulfil their responsibilities, strengthen local government and better serve their communities.
Representing Councillors Across Northern Ireland
Since 1993, NAC NI has been the only all-party organisation dedicated to representing councillors across Northern Ireland. All 11 local councils subscribe to Corporate Membership, meaning every elected councillor is automatically a member of the Association. Together, we provide an independent voice for councillors while promoting collaboration, sharing best practice and strengthening local government.

We recognise the challenges of public service and provide information, guidance and support on issues affecting councillors’ wellbeing.
Training & Development
We promote access to appropriate training and professional development, helping councillors build the knowledge and skills they need to carry out their role effectively.
